Mid-American Conference Tournament - Quicken Loans Arena - Cleveland, Ohio

6:30 PM EST. The top-seeded Buffalo Bulls downed the 8th-seeded Chippewas of Central Michigan in an 89-74 decision yesterday but that double-digit win and cover looks a lot better in the box score than it did on the hardwood. With 2:35 left, the Bulls led just 77-74, but closed the game on an improbable 12-0 run. If you cashed a ticket on Buffalo yesterday, consider yourself quite fortunate. The market loves scoring and the Bulls certainly have some appeal after going 6-1 over their last seven games and winning each one of those contest by double-digits including a pair of 30-point beatdowns and a 12-point decision over their opposition tonight. However, Buffalo's recent win over Kent State should only increase the Bulls' market appeal today but were suggesting that a team as sloppy as the Bulls are a big risk when spotting a price like this.

Kent State went down to the wire with Ball State and was able to hold on for a 77-74 win over the higher seeded Cardinals. The Golden Flashes now have victories in four of their last five games with much of their success coming after a renewed focus on the defensive side of the game. Over its last three contests, Kent State has limited its opposition to just over 66 points a night. While the Flashes did get whacked up in Buffalo, they did cover as a 13½-point pooch. Kent State also beat the Bulls in Kent 82-79 on a night the Bulls were spotting 7½ on the road. In fact, the Golden Flashes have been a tough out for Buffalo over the last two years covering four straight games with the Bulls. This year's MAC Tournament is being held at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, which is just 40 miles from Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center, which is Kent State's home barn. The Golden Flashes faithful travel well, and that was evident in yesterday's quarterfinal where they had a clear home-court advantage over Ball State. The support for the Flashes should only increase today as they battle the MAC's top squad. Spotting double=digits in conference is a dangerous game to play at the best of times, but these conference tournaments are a totally different beast. This is essentially a home game for Kent State but even if it weren’t, we would absolutely trust the Flashes to bring it in well under the inflated number. Scoop up these generous points with confidence.
