Pepperdine is not going to bust your bracket this season, but the Waves have a shot to play spoiler with three of their final four games coming against the top three seeds in their conference. Gonzaga and St. Mary's are dancing for sure, but the Waves opponents tonight, BYU, are on the outside looking in CBS' most recent Bracketology breakdown. Firestone Fieldhouse is a  destination that has not be kind to the Cougars over the years, as the Waves have won four straight at home in this series, including last year's 99-83 win as a 9-point pooch. Pepperdine has no market appeal, and a 20-point defeat at the hands of these Cougars in mid-January likely won't do much to change that perception.

BYU is 20-7 overall and 9-5 in West Coast Conference play, but while that record looks impressive, the Cougars feasted on a weak non-conference schedule that ranks 219th in the nation. One of our many betting strategies is to target weak teams spotting big road points in-conference, and BYU is in our sights. Already this season, the Cougars not only failed to cover as the chalk, but lost outright at both Pacific and Loyola Marymount. Against the latter, BYU was spotting double-digits, and we cashed a ticket on the Lions that night. We will not pass up the exceptional opportunity to do the same tonight.
