2:00 PM EST. The Blue Hens of Delaware have dropped seven straight games after a narrow 70-67 loss to Northeastern on Thursday night. That score does not tell the whole story, as the Blue Hens easily could have rolled over after a 10-0 NE run with less than eight minutes to play, but did not and fought back to cut the lead to one with three minutes to go. While they were on the wrong side of the score, the second half of that contest was like a microcosm of the Blue Hens' season. Playing hard, never quitting, but falling just short of the finish line. However, there is no shame in losing to one of the two best squads in the conference.

William & Mary is 8-5 in Colonial Conference play and 15-9 overall. The Tribe covered in defeat at Charleston last time out, and while we can usually forgive a road loss in conference, that positive result in the market is very misleading. W & M struggled all night with turnovers giving the ball up on 15 occasions. That kind of undisciplined play will always burn you in the end. After Charleston took a nine-point lead with just over seven minutes to go, the Tribe folded and were lucky to cover the seven-point spread. Unlike the Blue Hens, when faced with adversity, the Tribe fled rather than fight.

Spotting points with bad basketball teams is a dangerous game. The Tribe were +7 two nights ago, and now oddsmakers are asking them to spot a bigger price today. That is a huge swing and a lot to ask of a team this sloppy. W & M's stock is further inflated in this matchup after it smashed the Blue Hens by 25-points in Newark just over a month ago. Delaware was a small favorite that night, which might make them look like an easy target today, but do not let that recent result cloud your judgment of this contest. The Blue Hens are in a great spot to bring this one in well under the number, and if the Tribe doesn't take care of the basketball, an outright win is not out of the question.
