8:00 PM EST. A storm is brewing in Storrs, and reports are beginning to surface that the NCAA has once again set its sights on the Huskies. This would be the third time in seven years UConn has been investigated. The Huskies were banned from the tournament in 2013 after serving three years probation for failing to meet academic standards. On the court, the Huskies are coming off a 63-52 win over SMU as a six-point pooch. That result might inspire those that haven't followed UConn closely this season to place a bet on college basketball royalty, but before that win over the Mustangs, the Huskies were on a brutal 3-6 straight-up run. In fact, UConn has been blown out by double-digits in seven of its nine losses this season, including its last two, which came by a combined 44-points,

Temple is coming off the worst game it has played all season after the Owls shot under 30% and turned the ball over 20 times in 72-42 road loss at Cincinnati last Wednesday. The Owls' 10-10 record might not strike fear in the hearts of the market, but Temple is battle-tested and has played the third toughest schedule in the nation according to KenPom.

We get it. Spotting points with a school that just got blown out by 30 might not be an appealing bet, but that recent result along with Temple's 3-7 record over the last 10 games has the market fooled about how strong this squad is. Further deflating Temple's market appeal is its recent record against the Huskies, where UConn has ripped off three straight including a one-point decision last season in Philadelphia. Winning fixes everything, but UConn's W over SMU is like putting perfume on a pig. The Huskies are still ugly on and off the court. We have to wonder how will UConn respond with NCAA investigators lurking around? Finally, with this being the first Sunday since August without NFL football, the market is looking for some action and UConn is a known commodity that plays at 8:00 PM, around the time same that Sunday Night Football would be kicking off. This one will replace it. This line opened with the Owls at -8, but that number has come down, as all the action has been on the Huskies. Temple is being undersold on its home floor after failing to cover in its last two tries against Memphis and Tulsa respectively. While a 75-72 overtime defeat at the hands of the Tigers is a disappointment, that same Memphis team obliterated the Huskies. When UConn losses, it losses ugly, and now its timing is off here, as Temple will respond to that 30-point loss. Fight on, Temple, fight!
